Brazil marked Indigenous Peoples' Day yesterday with demonstrations and cultural events in several cities. In Rio de Janeiro members of three indigenous communities held a demonstration demanding the restoration of ancestral lands taken over by business interests and the creation of an indigenous peoples' university such as those existing in Venezuela and Ecuador. As part of the day's events, President Dilma Roussef announced a presidential decree creating three indigenous territories in north-central Brazil. teleSUR
