Star Wars is a story as old as time itself.

Good overcomes evil; love overcomes hates; forgiveness overcomes Jar Jar Binks – it’s no wonder that since A New Hope people have compared the space opera’s plot to the New Testament.

However we don’t think that’s quite why Father Roderick enjoys the trailer so much… he’s just a bit of a geek (that’s a compliment).

The Dutch priest filmed himself watching the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and his reaction is just like that of the millions of other people who watched it.

With a wide smile of amazement he takes in Luke Skywalker’s monologue, the Millennium Falcon flying around, and nearly ruptures a blood vessel when he gets to see Chewbacca and Han Solo for the first time in decades.

As it finishes the fan boy can say very little apart from: ‘That was amazing! I’ve got to see it again.’

Whether religious or not, we should all pray this film looks as good as the trailers.
