White riots broke out at an annual pumpkin carving festival near Keene State College in New Hampshire over the weekend with police firing tear gas at drunk students who were throwing bottles, rocks, skateboards and other objects.
White students were also lighting things on fire, pulling out street signs and flipped over at least one car. Authorities then responded in riot gear and used tear gas and rubber bullets.
Thousands of students flooded the streets from different parties being thrown in conjunction with the Keene Pumpkin Festival.
At least 30 people injured in the riots, with 20 needed treatment at the hospital, according to Keene Fire Chief Mark Howard. About a dozen students were arrested, according to police.
News reports and pictures uploaded to social media by festival goers shows the chaos as it unfolded.
College President Anne Hout said in a statement that the university would look at social media and pictures of the riots to identify the students involved.
