A Northern California man is behind bars after intentionally ramming his truck into his almost-girlfriend and her relative over the weekend after his advances were spurned in an attack that was caught on camera.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jon-Luke Laporte, 20, was driving around Vallejo when he spotted the apple of his eye along with a cousin walking near a liquor store.
That's when surveillance camera video shows Laporte's truck striking the two women from behind, knocking one in the air and dragging the other several feet.
Laporte boldly returned to the scene 10 minutes later after police and paramedics had arrived. He was soon spotted and a high speed chase with police ensued that came to an end a few blocks later when cops used a PIT maneuver to disable Laporte’s vehicle.
Laporte was taken to the Solano County Jail and charged with two counts of attempted murder. The two women who were hit amazingly only suffered moderate injuries and are expected to make a full recovery. Laporte was said to have had a “close” relationship with the young woman. The two had reportedly known each other for at least six years.
