The lead singer of a rising Argentinian rock band died after being electrocuted on stage during their opening set to promote its first album.

Agustín Briolini, 21, lead singer and guitarist of the Krebs, received a huge electrical shock to the head as the band was getting ready to play at Teatro del Sol in the city of Villa Carlos Paz, in central Argentina.

Apparently Briolini was testing the microphone when he was electrocuted.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, but initial reports said faulty wiring on a microphone caused the fatal electrical shock.

After being electrocuted, medical personnel rushed to try and revive Briolini, but after an hour with no success, he was transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead.

His fellow band members Diego Regali, 21, and guitarist Gustavo Escober, 22, said they couldn’t believe what happened on stage or that their friend was dead.
