On Friday, a driver coming down off one of Taipei’s main bridges ran over three motorists and continued on to run a red light.

The 66-year old driver of the black van runs over three motorists waiting patiently for the light to change, after the van bumps its way over one man’s body and his scooter it picks up speed and continues on through the red light.

Two motorists and two drivers, including the man whose vehicle filmed this dashcam, also ran the red light to catch up with the black van. They stop the vehicle in front of the police station situated on the corner of the intersection.

The driver claimed that his brakes failed while descending the bridge and he was unable to stop, which was why he’d plowed into the group of waiting scooters. This seems a little odd as most cars are equipped with handbrakes and a horn.

One of the scooter riders died from internal hemorrhaging while the other two were rushed to hospital by emergency services.
