Today's feel-good story is about Roo, the two-legged dog with a body identity crises. The kangaroo-looking creature was was born in Romania with one leg missing and lost the other front leg shortly after birth.
Roo was rescued from the streets by Safe Rescue and adopted by Nikki Dick and Ian Dick in December.
"People always stop and do a double take when they see her," said Nikki. "Because they think she is a kangaroo."
The British couple takes care of six other dogs, but Roo's treatment has been putting a serious dent in their wallet. Safe Rescue is accepting donations for Roo's hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions to ease the strain on her back.
The Dicks also hope to score a fresh pair of wheels for Roo, which should help her outrun those male dogs who are only out to pick up bitches.
Donations to Roo's medical expense fund can be made here: http://www.saferescuefordogs.com/the-story-of-roo.html
