More than 100 measles cases have been reported in more than a dozen U.S. states this year, with most of the cases part of a large, ongoing multistate outbreak linked to California Disneyland.

From January 1 to January 30, 102 people in 14 U.S. states were reported to have measles, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on its website.


Scientists have blamed the outbreak on the anti-vaccination movement, Forbes reported, as the majority of people who contracted measles were unvaccinated.

A total of 644 measles cases were reported in 27 states in 2014, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, but scientists warn that 2015 is on track to be worse than last year.
