A video of a University of Virginia student's bloody face after police accosted him outside a Charlottesville tavern is sparking outrage.

Martese Johnson, a third-year student at the university, was barred from entering Trinity Irish Pub early Wednesday. As he left, agents from the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control came over to investigate.

According to witnesses, the agents accused Johnson of giving them a fake ID. That's when they attempted to arrest him on the spot-- but using what some are calling 'extremely brutal and uncalled for' force to do so, causing him to bleed out on the sidewalk.

At this point, someone in the group thought it wise to start recording the scene on their smartphone.

As you can imagine, this latest in a slew of racially charged incidents has moved many to protest, and others to weigh in on social media.

Meanwhile the arrest warrants make no mention of the so-called fake ID that started the incident in the first place.
