John Bailey, the photographer that captured a photo of a bobcat walking along a beach in Florida with a shark in its mouth said he was taking a stroll at Sebastian Inlet State park in Vero Beach Monday evening.
According to Bailey, the bobcat staring off into the water then suddenly, it leaped into the water to attack a shark that was feeding close to the shoreline. The shark floundered for a while, but was eventually subdued by the bobcat.
"Initially, it was pretty quick," Bailey said to Local 10 news. "Spotted it, pulled it up (and) the shark floundered for a while."
Unfortunately, Bailey supposedly got too close to the bobcat while capturing the moment and startled the animal. It dropped the fish and sprinted back into the woods.
The photo was submitted to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to check for its authenticity. Both deemed the photo authentic and says they have no reasons to believe its not real.
"I was so fascinated, I didn't think about being in danger," Bailey said.
