The 7th Summit of the Americas concluded Saturday evening in Panama. Although a final declaration was not approved due to U.S. and Canadian objections to points on access to health care, among others, the Summit itself reflected the unity achieved in Latin America over the past decade. On the sidelines of the Summit, for the first time in 5 decades, a bilateral meeting was held between the Cuban and US presidents. Afterward, Raul Castro said that Barack Obama is "honest" and bares no responsibility for the actions of the 10 U.S. presidents that preceded him. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also met with Obama and told him that Caracas wanted peace with the United States. teleSUR
