Rajkot: Under its Global District Energy Citizen Initiative; the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has chosen Rajkot for its pilot project in India. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Rajkot and UNEP. They selected Rajkot city as it had successfully implemented its 'Low Emission Development Strategy' and 'Solar City Plan' with maximum utility and propagation of clean environment and clean energy.
