Mexican authorities arrested another drug kingpin, this time from the powerful Gulf Cartel. The latest arrest follows on the heels of the detention of other key drug lords in recent weeks. But many Mexicans feel that such high-profile arrests will do little, if anything, to reduce levels of violence and insecurity in the country. President Enrique Peña Niego and other government officials cite figures from the National Statistics Institute (Inegi) indicating a drop in violent crime and homicides, but the public's perception, according to Inegi surveys, is quite different.
