YouTube has announced its plans for an ad-free, subscription-based service. The company confirmed the move in an email sent out to YouTube Partners.

It outlines its plans for the option which will offer consumers the choice to pay for an “ads-free” version of the service for a monthly fee.

Partners will have to agree to updated terms. The company believes the move offers YouTube Creators the chance to generate additional income and speaks of the subscription service as something that will “excite your fans and generate previously untapped, additional source of revenue.”
