In a bid to bolster Washington's influence in the region, US President Barack Obama is in Jamaica to meet with leaders of the Caribbean Community (Caricom). The White House seeks to convince Caribbean leaders to sever their ties with Venezuela and the Petrocaribe regional energy pact sponsored by Caracas.
