21-year-old Jamyra Gallmon was arrested on Wednesday for the fatal stabbing of 30-year-old married lawyer in Washington D.C..

D.C. police found that lawyer David Messerschmitt was soliciting men on Craigslist, and Gallmon, using a non-gender specific username, responded. The two arranged to meet in Room 400 of the Donovan Hotel between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on February 9.

According to police reports, Messerschmitt texted his wife, Kim Vuong, at around 7:30 p.m., telling her that he would return home in about an hour. Messerschmitt was found dead the next day.

Gallmon claims she only had the intention of robbing Messerschmitt, but tried to back out when she arrived at his room at the Donovan Hotel. However, Messerschmitt grabbed her, causing her to have flashbacks of a previous assault, resulting in her to stab him several times with a knife.

Messerschmitt's body was found faced down and zip tied while his credit cards were scattered across the room. Blood was found on the floor, walls and door in the hotel room. Items seized from the room included lubricant, a condom and an enema kit.

Messerschmitt suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, groin and heart. He was also stabbed in the back and his hands had defensive wounds.

Police later viewed the surveillance footage and zeroed in on the suspicious, hooded figure of Gallmon in a stairwell of the hotel.

Gallmon met with investigators on Wednesday and was charged with first-degree murder.
