A group of anonymous artists attracted a flurry of attention with their installation of a 100-pound statue of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in a Brooklyn park. The bust that appeared atop a memorial to Revolutionary War soldiers in Fort Greene Park overnight on April 6, is an effort to “highlight those who sacrifice their safety in the fight against modern-day tyrannies”, according to the group, who spoke exclusively to Animal New York.
This video by one park visitor shows the statue and park employees quickly covering it, before it was dismantled by authorities later in the day. Credit: YouTube/jeremynyc 15
