Pop'n Twinbee review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video review of Pop'n Twinbee for Super Famicom, developed and published by Konami. Pop'n Twinbee tried to bring the frantic action of the arcade hit Detana! Twinbee to home consoles. However, this being 1993, that was easier said than done. The main things holding this game back are the limitations of the console itself, both in terms of hardware and basic configuration. You can't just pound in quarters like a good arcade SHMUP requires; you can't flip your TV 90 degrees on a whim just to match the display of the original (unless you're Ikaruga). But for starting two steps behind, Pop'n Twinbee does its best to pierce the upper echelons of Konami SHMUPs on the Super Famicom, which seems like a limiting factor but in fact means it's standing alongside proud names like Axelay and Parodius. This video review features video gameplay footage of Pop'n Twinbee for Super Famicom and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
