In what Argentine officials call a "clear provocation", Great Britain has reinforced its military presence in the Malvinas Islands, in a violation of UN resolutions and international law. The Malvinas, which the British colonists call the Falklands, is also claimed by Argentina, a position supported by Latin American nations.
