Researchers have discovered that fruit flies are able to recover from mid-flight disturbances by flapping one wing harder than the other to straighten their bodies; video shows a five millisecond reaction time, the fastest of any documented animal.

Fruit flies are known to have incredible flying ability despite the inherent instability that comes with their tiny size and constant flapping.
