In Montevideo, university students and political leaders expressed solidarity with Venezuela on Tuesday. One student recalled the role of Plan Condor in disappearing people in Latin America, while former Uruguayan President José Mujica said he could not understand why Venezuela is being sanctioned, when many other nations have worse human rights records beginning with the United States. "They have political prisoners from 34 years ago," he charged, "and in Guantánamo there are no judges, there is no law, nothing." teleSUR
