Former president and Co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party telephoned MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain at the party’s International Secretariat in London. The two leaders discussed the overall political situation in the country and the working relationship between the MQM and the PPP besides exchanging views on other issues.
Mr Zardari said that the MQM and the PPP are representative political parties of the people of Sindh. He added that the two parties would continue to work the progress of the province and welfare of its people.
He also informed Mr Hussain about the decision taken in a meeting of PPP legislators over including MQM in the Sindh government. Mr Hussain welcomed the decision.
Both the leaders agreed that the spirit of reconciliation and improving working relationship between the two parties would augur well for the province.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM would continue its peaceful struggle for basic rights of the people.
Both Mr Hussain and Mr Zardari expressed their concern on the Yohannabad tragedy in Lahore and expressed their sympathies to the Christian community.
They also inquired about each other’s health and well-being.
