This is one show that Bollywood makes sure keeps itself present in full attendance. 'Umang 2013', a stage show held at Andheri Sports Complex by film industry for the welfare of the police force—had Amitabh Bahchhan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and cricket legend Sachin as top performers.
While Karan Johar did a Koffee with Karan with Sachin and Amitabh (both of them ended praising each other) , Salman Khan for first time did a live interactive act with families of the police force. He first performed to Dabangg songs and even asked five girls who he called up on stage to say a dialogue from the film.
Ritesh Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan came on to the stage together praised the police force. While Ritesh spoke in chaster marathi—Abhishek said in Hindi, "Ek crore log Mumbai mein shanti se sotey hain kyonki 40,000 uniformed cops guard our city."
Aishwarya and Genelia sat in the enclosure backstage and watched their husbands. Backstage Abhishek was overheard talking to Ritesh and Genelia how his daughter has just started to walk and she walks sideways pointing her finger to the direction in which she wants to go.
A newly married Vidya Balan jokingly said that in Kahani the police helped to find her missing husband. But in reality she found her husband post the movie.
Mumbai's notoriously famous ACP Vasant Dhoble was making sure his guests like Ajay Devganand Anil Kapoor were comfortable. Kapoor and Ajay not only praised Dhoble for his good work even posed for photographs with him.
The pareshan girl Shalmali Kholgade performed to Daru Desi and Pareshan. Sunidhi Chauhanwho seemed in a hurry came sang and ran away as she had flight to catch. Shah Rukh who is normally the last one to perform did an early number with Chammak Challo. Akshay Kumar's act was stunning and most daring of them all. He played an action packed chor police game on stage
