A number of West Virginia residents have evacuated their homes following a landslide at Yeager Airport in Charleston.

A number of West Virginia residents have evacuated their homes following a landslide at Yeager Airport in Charleston. 
Airport operations weren't impacted as the landslide affected a fraction of the overrun area.
The slippage was first noticed several days ago and it progressively got worse.
Although no injuries were reported, homeowners below the impacted area were asked to temporarily leave as a precaution while engineers and contractors assess the scene and develop a plan.

The potential danger pertains to the tumbling dirt, brush and rocks and there is also a flooding risk. The landslide isn't a surprise to some residents who live below the massive hill.
