Follow the music, admire the art, place yourself inside historic architecture, in Telesur's "Cultura Latina". In this week's program, host Mauricio Izquierdo takes us on a visit to the most important jazz festival in Ecuador, now going on for the 11th consecutive year. A total of 19 artists from 10 countries have shared the stage with top quality groups from Ecuador at the historic Sucre Theatre, including Joss Stone, Pichirilo Radioactivo, Charles Bradley, Marc Ribot, Vinicius Cantuaria, Cassandra Wilson, Toto La Momposina, Pies en la Tierra and Como asesinar a Felipes. Our next stop is the Mala Yerba Theatre, situated in Alameda Park in the center of Quito. Founded 35 years ago by actors and directors forced into exile when Latin American dictatorships still held sway on the continent, the theatre is a space for creation, a space for reflection, says Argentine playwright and actor Aristedes Vargas. teleSUR
