Andalusian designer Leandro Cano emerged as one of the new international fashion talents. He presented two collections at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
The fall winter 2015-2016 collection, presented during Madrid Fashion Week, named “Camino” and has been inspired by the landscapes of Andalusia, the designer’s birthplace, from an innovative aerial perspective, screened and transformed by the optical illusion that the passage of time exercises on our memories, to create a pictorial product rich in colors and textures.
The techniques and materials used are reminiscent of past collections. Materials which are the hallmark of the brand such as leather, hand knit wool are present together with other less common fabrics such as cottons, flannels and cloths.
As a natural result of this vision, the silhouettes are a compendium of the experimental shapes and volumes of previous collections with other more refined and pure ones. The end result is a mixture of refined shapes with classic patterns and complex cuts which combine tradition and modernity.
The palette of colours used is related to the bucolic and nostalgic view with which the Andalusian field is represented. Latent natural colors such as midnight blue, mustard, wine and beige enable the designer to achieve the pictorial naturalism he seeks at the same time as enhancing the sensitivity and femininity of his garments.
