The Quiksilver Pro France saw every type of wave and swell size, from mush burgers to draining tubes. After a particularly flat summer the swell finally appeared last Thursday. As the contest organizers held their breaths and waited, the waves built into classic, sand-bottomed beasts. It wasn't firing everywhere, but many of the surfers still in the comp sniffed out the best sandbars and slipped into some amazing barrels. Check out Kolohe Andino, competition winner John John Florence, Josh Kerr, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow, Evan Geiselman, Luke Davis, Mikey Wright, Fred Robin, and Dane Reynolds, making heavy, tricky conditions look fun playful.
