Story Line
Set in Bombay of 1960s, the film tells the story of a boxer and an aspiring jazz singer and how their hopes and dreams collide with their individual realities. Kashyap was inspired to make such a film after reading L.A. Quartet, a sequence of four crime fiction novels by James Ellroy, set in the late 1940s through the late 1950s in Los Angeles.
Meet Rosie Of The Bombay Velvet Club
Here it is! Anushka Sharma plays the character of Rosie, a prized singer of the Bombay Velvet Club and has been paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the film. Rosie is his soul-mate, a love that blossoms in the underbelly of the city that was set to become the Manhattan of India.
