Venezuela's "Peaceful Student Protests"

In February 2014, a wave of violent street blockades, initiated by students and members of the Venezuela opposition laid siege to the Andean city of Merida. Residents were prohibited from moving freely, work was stopped, and access to emergency health services became severly limited. After a month of the barricades a number of communities decided to take bake their streets.
