February 6 is the international day of zero tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). According to the UN, Egypt has the highest number of circumcised women, though the practice has been banned since 2008. In 2013 a 13-year-old girl died as a result of a FGM operation. The doctor was sentenced to two years in prison for manslaughter. A step in the right direction, say activists, but more needs to be done. Our correspondent went to Asyut, a rural area where the practice is still prevalent.
