Venezuelan authorities arrested the owners of a pharmacy chain for artificially withholding products to create the impression of shortages and to force customers to line up for such items at some of its stores. The arrests are part of the government's stepped up efforts to combat speculation and hoarding. Not all businesses, however, are participating in the economic destabilization campaign. The Llano Verde company, after having stored rice, is now boosting its production and will cover a greater share of the domestic market. teleSUR
