THE PLEXIGLAS ASSEMBLING GAMES: is presenting a selection of polyptych paintings-assemblage of small rectangular Plexiglas pieces (17,5 x 35 m) mounted directly on the wall. This work is the important starting point of the work Jean-Pierre Sergent developed later on in New York and that he continues to explore today : images collected and recuperated from newspaper clippings, photos and into the web, redesigned with computer programs and then silkscreened on the back of the Plexiglas panels. Images coated finally with a monochrome acrylic paint and gesso (like in the reverse glass painting technic) to be exhibited assembled together side by side, as a construction game, onto the exhibition gallery's walls. Art works realized at his Montreal studio's in Canada, during the years 1991-1993.
