He was standing on the sidewalk holding a bag and a golf club which he was using as a cane. The officer repeatedly asked him to put the club down and informed him it was considered a weapon.

Wingate looked confused and told her it was his golf club and that he'd been using it to walk for years. He attempted to justify his reasoning for carrying the club, but when he declined setting it down, Whitlach accused him of swinging it at her and said it was caught on audio and video.
