First; please excuse the "huffing and puffing." The Amtrak website was down until 6 this morning, and the train is scheduled for 5:20. So...I drove 15 mi. out here and waited until 7. No train. I drove to Topeka, and the Stationmaster said there is a detour out West somewhere, and the train would be there in 15 min. I drove back out to my "spot," and when I pulled up, the signal was already yellow. I had to "make tracks" as far as I
could get before it went red. I made a quarter mile or so before I had to get out of the way and
get the video. The engineer stayed on the horn from the crossing to my position, so you could hear the sweet sound of the K5LA. Thanks!
