Asa Mader created his first stage direction HEROINE with Anna Mouglalis -- a multi-media theatrical performance based on the texts of Ovid, Marguerite Yourcenar, and telephone text messages (SMS). Combined with a 4-channel film and video installation and loosely inspired by the soliloquy of Molly Bloom from James Joyce's Ulysses, these written proclamations of love and the anguish of love at a distance present a modern interpretation of the "woman in waiting." The piece was created for and presented at the Festival of Ortigia in the Castello Maniace of Siracusa (Sicily).
