'American Sniper' attracted massive crowds all over the country for its wide release recently. However, the film has received some criticism due to a doll that was used in place of a real baby.

Thanks to its scriptwriter, Jason Hall, fans know why a real baby wasn't in the scenes.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hall posted a tweet noting that an infant was chosen for the role but came down with a fever during filming.

A second baby was supposed to take over, but for some reason didn't show up. At that point, Director Clint Eastwood decided to use a doll.
