310 Stainless steels are most commonly used for their corrosion resistance. 321 is a titanium stabilised chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with good strength and excellent corrosion resistance, as supplied in the annealed condition with a typical brinell hardness of 175. The second most common reason 310 stainless steel tubing are used is for their high temperature properties; 321 stainless steel plate can be found in applications where high temperature oxidation resistance is necessary, and in other applications where high temperature strength is required.
