A dog that was stranded in a frozen Ohio river has been saved thank to determined rescuers.

A dog that was stranded in a frozen Ohio river has been saved thanks to determined rescuers. The incident occurred on Monday morning after the owners of the lab named Stella let her outside.

They never expected her to leave the property, but for some reason that’s exactly what she did. Stella ran towards the half frozen. Great Miami River and ended up stuck in the frigid waters.

Electric workers had been taking holiday décor off a bridge when they spotted the stranded canine. Reportedly Stella was about 60 feet from the shore and had been barking.

Police officials and firefighters were dispatched to the river for assistance. Good Samaritans and local residents saw what was going on and offered to help. A rope was tossed to the pooch while bystanders encouraged her to move towards the shore.
