A man was recently sentenced to 21 months behind bars for welfare fraud. Colin Chisholm III and his wife were receiving welfare payments, food stamps and medical assistance all while living a life of luxury.

The couple, from Minnesota, didn’t let authorities in Hennepin County know that they moved to the state of Florida to live on their luxurious yacht.

In addition to the collected Minnesota benefits, Colin and his wife Andrea were getting welfare in Florida.

The couple was arrested in the Spring of last year for their scheme. Reportedly, they collected more than 160 thousand dollars between the years of 2005 and 2012 from public assistance programs in just Minnesota.

On Monday, Colin received his jail sentence and he will have to pay full restitution. Andrea has already served her 8-month sentence, as she pled guilty to the crime in 2014.

Colin has credit for time served in prison, but he could be back in court after his release to face charges from the state of Florida.
