Earlier this month, 28 countries agreed to take in more than 100,000 Syrian refugees, but the United Nations is hoping more states can help.

Countries that border Syria are now under pressure to take in more refugees, but resettlement is a lengthy and difficult process.

Many refugees think they will have a better chance leaving the region completely to start a life in Europe.
