A major development that we haven’t heard the last of is the relentless fall in the price of oil. From well over $100/barrel till as recently as June 2014 prices have fallen to less than $70/barrel and are slated to go even lower. That should be good news for large oil importing countries such as India for whom a fall in global oil prices confers triple benefits. It lowers our current account and fiscal deficits and also helps us in our fight against inflation. So is it time to celebrate or not yet? ET NOW has got some of the best brains on the subject to answer them for you on this edition of Macros With Mythili! Listen in to Vikram Mehta of Brookings India who was formerly the Chairman at Shell India, Narendra Taneja, the National Convener-Energy of BJP and Vandana Hari of Platts in conversation with ET NOW’s Mythili Bhusnurmath right here. Episode 41.
