The major parties yesterday moved a step closer to forging consensus, with Chairman of the Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee Baburam Bhattarai agreeing to forward the panel’s report to the CA full house using his prudence. “I will most likely submit the report to CA Chairman Subas Nembang after holding one round of consultations with the top leaders of major parties,” Bhattarai said. At a meeting of five parties – NC, CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist, RPP and MJF(d) – held in Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli floated the proposal to entrust CPDCC chairman with sending CPDCC report to the CA using his wisdom. Bhattarai, according to sources, is planning to mention in the report that “since the panel is still making sincere efforts to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the new constitution and the effort is at the final stage, the CA’s full house should decide accordingly”. This means the report is likely to urge the CA to give one more chance to CPDCC to settle the disputed issues. To know the news in detail watch video...
