Steve-O, the well-known star of ‘Jackass’ has been charged for a stunt he pulled in May of this year. Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover went to desperate lengths to climb onto an interstate billoard so he could attach his own sign which read ‘sucks’.

After a few failed attempts and subsequent falls over the duration of two days, he was able to climb up and secure his word to the highway sign. In the end, he made the sign morph from ‘Sea World Drive’ to ‘Sea World Sucks’

Initially, Steve-O denied any and all involvement in the stunt but in August, he took credit and posted video of his billboard-climbing attempts to YouTube showing he was in fact responsible for it.

City officials said the anti-SeaWorld act caused damage to the sign. The San Diego City Attorney’s Office has since charged him with a California vehicle code infraction.

The director of communications for the City Attorney’s Office remarked “It was not a smart thing to do to place drivers and their passengers in harm’s way. Had anyone been injured, it is likely Mr. Glover would have faced a felony or misdemeanor..”

He was issued a nearly $240 fine. Reportedly, his acquaintances at PETA will likely foot the bill.
