Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced today that General Rubén Darío Alzate and his soldier companions will be released on Saturday. Peace talks between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) were suspended when General Alzate was captured two weeks ago. It is expected that his release will signal a return to the negotiations table. However, Alzate has yet to explain what he was doing in the guerrilla controlled Choco region dressed as a civilian and without proper protection. Charles Parkinson reports from Colombia. teleSUR
