Protesters shut down a section of the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles as demonstrations against the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case continued throughout the city Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

California Highway Patrol officers were on the scene.

In Oakland, protesters blocked Interstate 580 in both directions near Interstate 980 and the Highway 24 interchange.

The marches come a day after a St. Louis County prosecutor announced jurors had decided not to indict Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson, who is white, for the fatal August 9 shooting of Brown, an unarmed, black 18-year-old man.
