Ferguson Mayor James Knowles expressed his disappointment on Tuesday that the National Guard was not deployed by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon in time to save businesses the night before.
"Unfortunately, as the unrest grew and further assistance was needed, the National Guard was not deployed in enough time to save all of our businesses. The decision to delay the deployment of the National Guard is deeply concerning," Mayor Knowles said.
A Missouri grand jury decision found that white police officer Darren Wilson should not be indicted in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown this summer.
