Every year Beijing International Chinese College (BICC) is hosting a Free Summer Camp for foreign students. This year, over 100 students from 16 countries, aged 18-25, participated in a four weeks of intensive language training and Chinese culture classes (tai–chi, paper-cutting, Chinese yo–yo playing, painting, calligraphy and tea ceremonies). After classes, they met with Chinese families and visited world famous cultural sites such as the Great Wall of China, the Summer Palace and other scenic spots around Beijing. The Summer Camp was sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban).
