When it comes to prison contraband, cell phones are a scourge for wardens everywhere. Luckily, one prison has a special weapon to combat them: Drako, a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois! Drako and his partner, Officer Brian Pyle, have worked in California’s Vacaville prison for five years now, and in that time, Drako has found over 1,000 cell phones. Drako was the first dog in California to be cross-trained to find both narcotics and cell phones, and he’s great at both. In his career as a jailer, Drako has found many pounds of narcotics, but it’s the 1,000 cell phones that make him so unique.
