Four college students in Illinois were taken into police custody for allegedly swiping a life-sized Ronald McDonald statue.

Cops were able to identify the suspects after surveillance footage from the theft was released on social media.

Three of the accused were caught on camera walking across the McDonald’s lot and approaching the statue. Together the trio lifted it up.

One man got a good grip on the statue and ran off towards some nearby bush. The other two males fled in the opposite direction.

Once the clown-carrying suspect hid the statue in the bush, he joined fellow members of his group. While the three males were taking part in the theft, the female had been in the drive-through, ordering eight cheeseburgers and one ice cream cone.

The men later returned to the scene to remove the statue from the McDonald’s property. A patrolman found the car from the surveillance footage parked on the Olivet Nazarene University campus.

The Ronald McDonald replica was soon located in a dormitory room. All four students are now facing charges of felony theft.
