Officers investigating the theft of a Poppy Appeal collection box from a supermarket in Thringstone have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify in connection with the incident.

The incident took place at about 6.35pm on Saturday November 1 when a collection box and two joints of meat were stolen from the Co-op in The Green.

Police Community Support Officer 6002 Robert Inman is investigating the incident, he said: “This was a despicable crime and we need to catch the person responsible.

“If you recognise the man in the image or you have any information about the theft please contact the police. Even if you’re not 100% sure about the identity we would still urge you to come forward as we can quickly eliminate people from our enquiries.”
